When it comes to safety and comfort when riding, the right equipment plays a decisive role - especially for children. SPRENGER offers a selection of high-quality children's stirrups and children's spurs especially for young riders, which meet the needs of smaller shoe sizes. In this blog post, we take a look at our range of products for children and explain why they are the ideal choice for young riders and their ponies.

Children's stirrups: safety and comfort for small feet

Children's stirrups are specially tailored to the requirements of children and adults with small shoe sizes. The tread width of these stirrups is 110 mm, in comparison: standard stirrups have a tread width of 120 mm. SPRENGER offers a variety of stirrups that are characterized by special functions and ensure comfort, safety and a pleasant riding experience. In addition to the classic FILLIS stirrups, the jointed stirrup as the heart of the SPRENGER stirrups should of course not be missing. Because we also want to provide our young riding enthusiasts with the greatest possible comfort in the saddle.

FILLIS stirrups: The classic for children

FILLIS stirrups are the ideal choice for young riders who value style and functionality. Depending on the color, they are also available in the standard version (120 mm) or 130 mm for extra large shoe sizes, in addition to the children's size. Made from high-quality stainless steel, they offer durability and stability. They are also available in classic silver or modern rose gold as children's stirrups. Another plus: the tread is interchangeable so that it can be easily replaced if necessary. Dressage riders in particular appreciate the simple design and excellent price-performance ratio of the SPRENGER FILLIS stirrups.

System-4 stirrups: joint-friendly and safe

The System-4 stirrups are equipped with an innovative joint system that enables a flexible foot movement and protects the joints. These stirrups offer excellent shock absorption, which relieves strain on tendons, ligaments, and joints - ideal for children who are still developing their joints or are growing. In addition, the System-4 joint ensures that the foot is released from the stirrup more easily in the event of a fall. This combination of comfort, safety, and stability makes them an excellent choice for all young riders. Would you like to find out more about our jointed stirrups? In our article 'Jointed stirrups for knee problems', you can read all about the special features of System-4, Bow Balance and Flexcite.

Bow Balance stirrups: maximum support and optimum balance

The Bow Balance stirrups are based on System 4 technology and offer additional features for even more comfort and safety. With an extra wide tread and two different rubber hardnesses, these stirrups offer maximum grip. The curved shape brings the rider's leg closer to the horse and supports an optimum leg position. A real relief in the saddle for children and beginners. Thanks to the optimum balance and well thought-out design, it is easier to pick up the stirrup - a big plus point in favor of the SPRENGER Bow Balance stirrup for beginners who occasionally lose the stirrup. As a real all-rounder that provides plenty of support with its tread surface and ensures greater comfort in the saddle with its System 4 joint, the Bow Balance is perfect for long hacks, jumping, eventing and dressage.

Children's spurs: Fine aids for young riders

In addition to stirrups, SPRENGER also offers spurs specially developed for children. These are specially designed for smaller shoe sizes with narrower and shortened spur shanks. The range includes spurs with a drop-shaped neck, optionally as a set with nylon spur straps. The rounded shape offers a gentle effect and is therefore also suitable for young riders who are in the process of refining their aids with spurs. The same applies here as for all riders: spurs are by no means intended to get the horse moving, but to make the aids even finer and more sensitive. When you or your child ride with spurs for the first time, this should always be done with a trainer who provides support from the ground and ensures that the spurs are used correctly. ULTRA fit SLIMLINE children's spurs

The ULTRA fit SLIMLINE children's spurs from SPRENGER are perfectly suited to smaller shoe sizes and young riders. With a 15 mm rounded neck, they offer a gentle yet precise effect on the horse. The spurs have a special bar loop that prevents the spur strap from pinching or slipping. Thanks to the delicate and elegant slimline shape, these spurs are not only functional but also visually appealing, making them less noticeable, especially on smaller feet. Like all ULTRA fit spurs, the spurs can be individually adjusted to the foot by bending, for an optimum fit and a comfortable fit. They are made of rustproof, break-proof stainless steel, which underlines their durability and quality.
